sandstack sessions egress through the host IP by default. To rotate residential, ISP, or datacenter addresses, sign up with one of the providers below and paste the credentials into the New-Session form on your dashboard. We don't resell — you own the relationship.
Sweet spot of price and reliability. 55M+ residential IPs, sticky sessions, HTTP/SOCKS5. Great default for most agent workloads.
Cheapest pay-as-you-go residential available. Smaller pool than Bright Data, but the price differential is real if you're cost-sensitive.
The de-facto enterprise standard. Largest IP pool, best success rate against hardened targets. Expensive at low volume — worth it once you're scraping seriously.
Premium alternative to Bright Data. Similar quality, slightly cheaper at mid-volume. Has a per-result pricing option for predictable budgets.

How to use a proxy with sandstack
Sign up
Pick a provider above, create an account, and add a small starter balance (most have free trials).
Create a proxy zone
In the provider's dashboard, create a residential or datacenter zone. Copy the host, port, username, and password.
Paste into sandstack
On your dashboard, click + New session, choose BYO proxy, paste the URL like http://user:pass@host:port. Done.
Which one should I pick?
- Just exploring or testing: IPRoyal PAYG. Few dollars gets you started.
- Production agent workloads, cost-conscious: Decodo. Sweet spot.
- Hard targets (e-commerce, social, ticketing): Bright Data or Oxylabs. Pay the premium for success rates.
- Want it on your AWS bill: Bright Data via AWS Marketplace.
FAQ
Can sandstack manage the proxy for me?
Not today. We may offer a managed option later, but right now we believe BYO is the cleaner model — you own the proxy account, you control the billing, you swap providers without involving us.
Will my proxy credentials be safe in sandstack?
The proxy URL is passed only to the Chromium container of your session as an environment variable. It is not logged, not persisted, and is destroyed with the container at session end. See Security.
Can I use a free proxy I found online?
You can, but please don't. Free public proxies are slow, log your traffic, and often inject ads or worse. Even a $5 paid balance is a much better experience.
